IBMIBM’s printing division will be sold to japanese photgraphy company Ricoh for $725 million. According to IBM, the printing division generated $1 billion last year.

One of the pioneers in computers, THE pioneer, seems to be selling everything. Yes, fellas, everything. First, its laptop division (now called Lenovo). Yes, Lenovo. Now, its printing division, which didn’t do so bad last year.

Will we see IBM broke in the following years?

Ricoh will have the 51% of the printing division and will be called InfoPrint Solutions, Co.
Even if we consider this as an estrategy of focusing their company on a more specific market, IBM will end up inspiring a bad impression and its reputation as technology leader will be seriously affected. They no longer produce anything, if you know what I mean.

Do you have anything IBM? I don’t. No chips, no computer, no software… so what the hell are they doing for a living?

I repeat: Do you have anything IBM? Except, of course, that old crappy Via Voice 97 that understood “Buy fudge” as “Buck Fush”.

Do you? I don’t think so. You know why? Because IBM no longer produces anything for the consumers. I don’t know what they produce… but certainly not something you can buy at a store.
