The only thing I can do is laugh. It seems that the only impressive thing about iPhone is the trademark. Yesterday,
controversy was between Cisco Systems and Apple.
Today, we got a new chapter in our prime time series. ComWave, the second largets VoIP provider, has been using the name iPhone since 2004 and has sent a formal letter to Cisco warning of the use of the trademark “iPhone”.
Apparently, [tag]Cisco[/tag] tried to register the [tag]iPhone[/tag] trademark in the Canadian Intellectual Property Office in 1998 but the registration was not succesful and abandoned its efforst in 2003.
After that, Apple tried to register it in 2004 but [tag]ComWave[/tag] filed a motion to oppose that application.
“I find it peculiar that [tag]Apple[/tag] would launch a flagship product without securing its own trademark first,” Barzakay said. “They certainly could have used a lot of other names.”
What is this? A cheap book? Three companies that fight for a name, a company that presents a product without registering it… do you guys want a prize, or something?
These kinds of things affect the image of these companies.
Are they here to supply us with good products or to fight for a name?
What will happen if tomorrow I call this website iPhone, or maybe iDiot?
